New, Fast And Best Way To Type SMS / Text Messages

Many latest phones have “predictive text input” also known as T9, which makes typing long message much easier and faster rather than having to press a key multiple times in other to select a particular letter, for instance punching the number two key twice for letter B and three times for letter C you can simply spell out a word, the software will guess the word you are trying to spell and fill in the blanks, thereby reducing the overall number of key punches, you will see different words being displayed as you type out each letter, as the phone tries to guess what you are typing.

If when you finish typing, a wrong word appeared, press the *key on most Nokia phones except 5510 series, and 0 key on latest Ericsson phones, to cycle through a list of possible words.

You will usually find the word you are looking for in one or two clicks, for example, if you type the word “vest” you will see the “test” when you finish typing the word, pressing the key *key on Nokia phone changes the word “vest”.

Another example is the word “cool” type it in, and you will see “book” press * and cool will appear, then “cook” then “conj” as a guess, then back to “book”.

To turn on predictive text input in Nokia phones, start writing a new SMS message Options. Scroll down to the Dictionary entry and press OK, the two options are Dictionary Off and English, scroll down to English and press OK, the message “T9 dictionary activation” appears.

New Ericssion phones have the T9 system switched on by default and can be switched off by going into the setting menu, then language, then T9 input selection off.
