Ex-striker of Sunderland football club Kevin Kyle, who used to earn £10,000-a-week (N2.76m per week) as a professional footballer, now works as a storeman on a ship, making £800 (N221,000) per fortnight.

Daily Mail reports that Kyle, who also played for Scotland, got 10 caps for his country. The 33-year-old was said to have left his last club Ayr United in 2014 and now provides for the family working on the so-called "floating ship", where he cleans floors, replenishes stock and makes beds.

When asked about his new job, Kyle answered:
"I’m trying to provide for my family."
Kyle started his football career at Sunderland in 2000. In 2006 he scored his first and only Premier League goal to Manchester City.

It is none of a secret that in some periods of his life Kyle was absorbed by gambling and once even confessed to spending £7,000 (over N1.9m) weekly on betting. Not proud of his addiction, the footballer used to warn his young colleagues against dangers of gambling.
