Latest news coming out of the head office of the world
football governing body, FIFA, in Zurich, Switzerland
indicate that the ban placed on Nigeria over all football
related activities has been lifted.
It could be recalled that the FIFA Emergency Committee
decided to suspend The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF)
with immediate effect, due to what it called government
interference in the national football board and many
obvious politicking.
Although the government has decided to put a stop to being
a part of the ruling football board, it has also withdrawn its
financial support to the national football body, which the
NFF found so unbearable as it has affected all the activities
of the football board this July.
The suspension, which FIFA revealed will be lifted as soon as
the court action that was instituted by Ruth Baribote, owner
of Nembe FC, and also to reinstate the Aminu Maigari-led
Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) board without
government's interference before July 17 deadline has
been met by NFF which made the ban to be lifted.
The NFF can now participate in football competitions on all
levels as the suspension days are over.
