Jonathan Calls Buhari To Express Sympathy Over Late

Bomb Attack

Reacting to the twin bomb explosion which hit Kaduna

state on Wednesday, July 23, which was reportedly

targeted a Former Head of State, General Muhammadu

Buhari (rtd), and an Islamic cleric, Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi,

which claimed dozens of lives, President Goodluck

Jonathan allegedly called General Muhammadu Buhari to

express his sympathy.

As Nigerian Tribune (referring to anonymous sources)

reports that President Goodluck Jonathan allegedly called

General Muhammadu Buhari, to commiserate with him over

the presumable assassination and reassure that he

concerned about his safety as well as that of any other

Nigerian.

"The president was really touched at the mishap in Kaduna,

especially that it nearly hit a former head of state, General

Buhari. He personally put a call through to the General after

breaking his fast on Wednesday, to express gratitude to

God for sparing Buhari's life," the source said.

The call, which was made late on Wednesday and lasted

about 10 minutes, ended with the two leaders ready to

cooperate in fight against terror and bringing peace and

security to the country. The source also claimed that

Jonathan promised to bring the perpetrators of the late

attack to justice.
