Why Nyako Ran Away From Nigeria – Aide Reveals

Nyako, has reportedly fled the country in a bid to avoid

being harassed by security agents, who have been looking

for him and for security concerns about his life.

A reliable source close to Nyako, who revealed this to

Vanguard, said the governor had left Nigeria shortly after

he was impeached to take a deserved rest after many

years of the saddle.

"It is true that Nyako had since left Nigeria to go and have

a deserved rest but the main reason he left was because he

was afraid for his life .

"Beyond the issue of trying to impeach the governor, he was

really worried about people who could harm him because

of their fear that he had so much information. So, I can tell

you that as we speak, Nyako is not in Nigeria ," the source

said.

Nyako was removed as governor of Adamawa by the state

House of Assembly after he was probed and found guilty of

financial misconduct. Few hours after his removal on

Tuesday, 15 July, 2014, there were reports that the

impeached governor might be charged to court for alleged

treason.

Security agents had reportedly stormed his Asokoro, Abuja

residence, few hours after he was sacked to effect his arrest

but he was nowhere to be found. Following his

disappearance, the Federal Government was allegedly

considering declaring Nyako wanted as a last resort to

compel him to come and face the charges that have been

prepared against him by both the office of the AGF and the

EFCC.

Reacting to Nyako's disappearance, the presidency said his

running away is a clear indication that the accusations

against him were correct.
