INEC Recruits 10,432 Ad Hoc Staff For Osun Guber Election

The Independent National Electoral

Commission (INEC) yesterday disclosed

that it has recruited 10,432 ad hoc staff

for the conduct of the August 9

governorship election in Osun State.

The state acting Resident Electoral

Commissioner (REC), Mr. Segun Agbaje,

who disclosed this during a press

conference in Osogbo, said the ad hoc

staff would be deployed to all the 30 lo­

cal government areas in the state.

He said: "These ad hoc staff were

sourced from the National Youth Service

Corps (NYSC) corps members in Osun,

Ekiti, Kwara, Oyo, Ondo and Kogi

states; students of Federal Polytechnic,

Ede and Obafemi Awolowo University,

Ile-Ife; and staff of federal es­

tablishments in Osun State."

He assured that both sensitive and non-

sensitive election materials will arrive all

the polling centres timely on the election

day, adding that adequate security

measures have been put in place to

ensure a successful election.
