4 Arrested Over Assassination Of Ex-Lawmaker In Imo

Police officers of the Imo state police

command has apprehended 4

individuals over the alleged

assassination of Kinsly Nkemka, a

former member of the Imo state house

of assembly.

According to Vanguard, Andrew

Enwerem, the Imo state police image

maker broke the news of the killing to

the press in Owerri, affirming that 4

persons were being quizzed by the

police to assertain their involvement or

innocence in the death of the Umunoha-

born ex-legislator

"It is true that Kingsley Nkemka was

assassinated last Tuesday (September

9, 2014). The police swung into action

to unravel the mystery surrounding the

heinous murder. As I am talking with

you now, four suspects are with the

police undergoing interrogation. The

Command will stop at nothing to expose

and prosecute those who killed the

young man."

Nkemka, before his death nursed

ambitions to run for the Mbaitoli/

Ikeduru federal constituency on the

platform of All Progressives Congress

(APC) and served as an aide to

Benjamin Uwajumogu, the speaker of

the Imo state house of assembly.

Ahaneku while reacting to the death of

Nkemka said: "He had a brief stop-over

at a popular T-Junction at Ohaohia

Mbieri, Mbaitoli local government area,

to confer with one of his facilitators, who

had earlier called him on phone around

8 or 9pm before the sad incident,"

In his own words, the speaker of the

house when Nkemka was a serving

lawmaker, Maxwell Duru said: "I was

shocked when I heard that he had been

killed by yet-to-be identified gunmen.

Right now, I do not have personal

details to know whether it was a case of

assassination or not.
