Following the bomb blast in Kaduna allegedly targeted at

former Head of State, Major General Muhammadu Buhari

(rtd.), and Muslim cleric, Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, in Kaduna,

Security expert, Dr. Ona Ekhomu has said the choice of

targets was calculated.

According to him, the Kaduna bombings were an indicator

of more assassination plots against top politicians and

religious leaders by the insurgents.

Describing the attack as an attempt to plunge Nigeria into

widespread politico-ethno-religious violence, he said the

development might have triggered a violent conflict

between All Progressives Congress, APC, and Peoples

Democratic Party, PDP, supporters; Christians and Muslims

and also youths and security agents because of the

perceived inability of the security agencies to prevent

incessant killings in Nigeria, Vanguard reports.
