President Goodluck Jonathan has reportedly intervened in
the impeachment process of Nasarawa State Governor,
Tanko Al-Makura.
Punch reports that the President on Thursday met behind
closed doors with six members of the Nasarawa State
House of Assembly.
It was believed that the meeting was to enable President
Jonathan intervene in the impeachment process that the
lawmakers had instituted against the governor.
It would be recalled that Al-Makura had over the weekend
met with Jonathan at the presidential villa to solicit his help
over his proposed removal from office by the lawmakers.
It was gathered that the lawmakers were led by their
Speaker, Musa Muhammed, and that Uche Secondus, the
Deputy National Chairman, South, of the Peoples
Democratic Party was also in attendance.
